Classes Qigong Teacher Student Info

I started studying Tai Chi and Qigong in 1996 with Karel and Eva Koskuba of the Chinese Internal Arts Association (CIAA).

My Tai Chi teaching career started when I moved to Guernsey in 2001 where I taught for the Adult Education Centre and with the local Multiple Sclerosis Group.  After teaching in Guernsey for four years I moved back to South East England in 2004 and now teach in Berkshire.

I received my City and Guilds 7370 teaching certificate in 2002, and have completed two three year courses in Advanced Instructor Training for Tai Chi and Qigong with my teachers Karel and Eva.

I hold professional membership of the CIAA, the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA), and full instructor level membership (Grade A) of the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain (TCUGB).

I've studied Chen (Laojia - Old Style), Yang Long Form, Qigong, Push Hands and Two-Man Form (San Shou).  And I've also learnt weapons such as Chen Style Straight Sword, Broadsword and Spear.  In my continued quest to develop my skills I am now learning Xinjia (New Style).  I still attend regular workshops and private lessons as part of my continuous professional development.

I continue to study with Karel and Eva and still enjoy their humour and wonderful teaching.  Karel and Eva have both been accepted as lineage disciples (20th generation of Chen style).  I have also trained with Grand Master Chen Xiaowang and his son Master Chen Yin-Jun, and attended workshops with Master Lo De Xiu, Linda Chase Broda, John Ding and Mike Sigman.

There is an ancient phrase that tai chi teachers like to quote:

“The teacher leads you to the gate, but only you can pass through.”

At some point, students must take tai chi unto themselves and make it their own.
